As entrants rightly pointed out, Sept 1 was awkward for those
returning to classes so the deadline has been extended. Winners will

I have video teasers for both
The Summoning and The
Awakening on YouTube, and I noticed others for
The Summoning and video book reviews, so that gave me a contest
idea. Well, two actually.
Video
Contest
Create a video for either The
Summoning or The Awakening or the Darkest
Powers trilogy. Exactly what kind of video? That's up to
you. Here are some ideas:
- a book teaser, like mine
- a
video acting out a scene, with actors, puppets, dolls, whatever
- a
video of casting choices (no movie plans, but we can hope!)
If you
have an idea and aren't sure it would qualify, email the contest address
(in the "how to enter" section below). You'll find I'm very flexible. I want you to have fun
with it, not follow a lot of rules.
Grand Prize
The grand prize winner gets all of the following:
- signed hardcover
of The Summoning and The
Awakening, plus your choice of a spot on the advance copy list or a
signed hardcover of The Reckoning in
May 2010
- your choice of any Lyle House tee, tank or pillow from
CafePress
- Edison Group sling-sack
- signed bookmarks for all 3
books
- $100 gift certificate for CafePress or an online bookstore
Honorable Mention
Five honorable mentions will
receive their choice of any of the books (signed) or a Lyle House tee,
tank or pillow from CafePress.
Video Book
Review Contest
Create a book review video for either
The Summoning or The
Awakening. There are some on YouTube already if you want to
see examples. If you don't want to videotape yourself for YouTube
(and if you're under 18, your parents may not want you to!) then try
something creative--do it with dolls, with puppets, wear a mask...
NOTE: while the other contest will be judged, for this one, I'm going
to draw the winners so there's no bias toward positive reviews!
